Doktor24 was founded in 2016 with Investor AB (the largest investment company in the Nordics) as owner. In 2020, the state-owned pharmacy Apoteket AB became a new minority shareholder and in May 2021, the ownership was expanded with investment firms Stena Sessan and Ernströmgruppen. New capital of a total of SEK 400 million was provided, which in addition to an increased growth investment is used for further development of the digital platform and a broadened service and product development within chronic care.
